With our expanded approval technology, you can make sure that any document – not just contracts – can be generated and approved at the right time by the right people. There is no limit of how many people you can add to approve a document.

While we were adding this approval layer to documents, we did a bunch of other polishing work to the app to make managing documents an even nicer experience for the HR professional. For more on our document management features, visit our document management page.

For now though, let’s talk approvals!

How do document approvals work?

Requesting a document approval

We’ve made requesting approvals suuuuppppeeerr easy for you. Here’s how it works:

Simply open a document that is in a draft status, hit the approval button, and select your approvers.

Note – you can select your approvers, but choose to send the approval request at a later time.

Monitoring approval status

So you’ve added your approvers, now you need to keep an eye on all your approvals and follow up anyone who is dragging the chain. You can keep your finger on the pulse by monitoring document approval status in a single view;

Has draft approvals – you have nominated approvers, but you have not yet notified them

Awaiting approval – Approvals have now been sent to the nominated approvers. Approvals not yet completed

Approved – All nominated approvers have accepted the document

Why is it important to get an approval for an important document

It is important to get approval for an important document because it helps ensure that the document is accurate, complete, and appropriate for its intended purpose. Approvals also serve as a quality control measure. They help identify and resolve any errors or issues with the document before it is shared or used.

Additionally, using an approval process can also demonstrate that the document has been reviewed and considered by someone with the appropriate level of authority and expertise. This can be important for maintaining the credibility and integrity of the document and the organisation.

Furthermore, in some cases, getting approval may be a legal or regulatory requirement. For example, certain types of documents, such as financial statements or contracts, must be reviewed and approved by a manager or other designated official to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Overall, getting approvals are an important step in the document management process. It helps to ensure the quality and accuracy of the document, and it can also be a legal requirement.
