The Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) reporting requirements just got more complex but with Worknice, staying compliant doesn’t have to be a time drain. From instant data collation to export-ready files, Worknice helps you breeze through your WGEA obligations.

How does Worknice WGEA Reporting software help?

Highlights

  1. Automatically includes employees that were terminated in the reporting year
  2. Retains codes and data from the previous reporting period
  3. Automatically updates people data as their information or positions change
  4. CSV export already formatted in line with the WGEA submission

Data you already store, ready for reporting

There’s no need to start from scratch or juggle spreadsheets. Worknice captures the right data from the get-go including tenure start and end dates, gender, employment type, remuneration, and parental leave and stores it in structured, report-ready formats.

No rework. No confusion. Just accurate data at your fingertips.

Built-in logic for WGEA compliance

WGEA reporting has strict field formats and classification rules. Worknice handles all the mapping behind the scenes including job classification against the ANZSCO code framework so your reports meet the mark the first time.

Export files prepped for submission

When it’s time to report, simply generate your submission-ready files in one click. You’ll get a CSV file that can be shared for quality checking before submission with the WGEA submission portal.

Handle multiple entities with ease

Got multiple ABNs or business units to report on? Worknice supports entity-level reporting, allowing you to create separate submissions with the correct scope and headcount for each.

A centralised source of truth

As data changes or remains the same, the report is populating in realtime in the lead up to your next reporting period.

How to lodge your next WGEA Report

When it’s time to lodge your workplace gender equality report, with the submission window running from 1 April to 31 May, employers with 100 or more staff must meet detailed requirements set out by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA). Here’s what’s involved to ensure compliance:

Confirm your organisation’s key information: This includes verifying business details and nominating the individuals responsible for managing the WGEA submission process.

Complete the online employer questionnaire: You’ll need to provide insights into your organisation’s formal policies, strategies, and initiatives related to workplace gender equality covering areas such as flexible work, pay equity, parental leave, and leadership pathways.

Prepare the Workforce Management Statistics (WMS) file: This spreadsheet tracks employee lifecycle data, including new hires, internal promotions, exits, and parental leave taken. The aim is to give WGEA a view of gender dynamics across your employee movements.

Submit your Workplace Profile: This report details the composition of your workforce by gender, employment type, and job level alongside base salaries and total remuneration, mapped against WGEA’s classification standards like ANZSCO.

Automate your WGEA reporting with confidence

Validate your data and get executive sign-off: Before submission, all information must pass WGEA’s quality control checks. A responsible executive (typically your CEO or equivalent) must review and formally endorse the submission.

Submit and review: Once lodged, organisations have up to 28 days to make changes or correct errors as long as the report was submitted before the 31 May deadline. If you miss the cut-off, you may forfeit the editing window and risk non-compliance if any issues arise post-submission.
