Every people team is sitting on answers. Contracts signed and unsigned. Certificates current and about to lapse. Who started this month, who reports to whom, who is ready for their next step. Your HR system dutifully stores all of it. But when someone needs one of those answers, you’re clicking through screens and rebuilding the picture from fragments.

People and culture leads rebuild the same compliance report before every leadership meeting.

HR coordinators build a list just so they can start chasing it.

Managers ask a quick question and wait a day for the answer.

Today, that changes. We’re launching Ask Worknice, a new way to work with your people data.

Every person, every piece of paperwork and every compliance group in Worknice is now a question away.

Need to know who’s missing a contract? Just ask. Want to see whose certificates lapse before the end of the quarter? Ask. Getting ready for an audit? Ask Worknice who isn’t compliant, and exactly what they’re missing.

The answer comes back from your own records, with every person named and linked, ready for you to act on.

Your records, answering back

The hardest part of any people question is rarely the question. It’s the digging.

The contract is on one screen. The certificate is on another. The compliance group lives somewhere else again. The real answer is in how they connect, and connecting them by hand is what eats the week.

Ask Worknice does the digging for you.

It works from the one place that already holds the truth about your people: Worknice itself. When you ask a question, Ask Worknice looks up the right records, puts the pieces together and gives you an answer in plain language. Not a report to interpret. Not a filter to build. An answer, with the people in it.

Ask who in Melbourne is missing a police check, and you get three names, each with their status and a link straight to their record. One hasn’t submitted. One is waiting for review. One has already expired. You know exactly where to start.

And because Ask Worknice remembers the conversation, you keep going. “Which of them started this year?” “What else is Mia missing?” Each answer builds on the last.

Ask Worknice in action

HR coordinators stop building lists before they can chase them. “Who hasn’t returned their employment contract?” “Which paperwork is overdue in Brisbane?” The list arrives ready to work through, with every name a click from their record.

People and culture leads walk into every meeting prepared. “Who isn’t compliant in the Food Handling group, and why?” “Who started in the last three months?” The questions that used to mean an afternoon in reports now take a sentence to ask.

Compliance stays ahead of the calendar. “Which certificates expire in the next 90 days?” “Has anyone’s first aid certificate already lapsed?” Renewals start while there’s still time, not after someone notices.

Leaders get answers about structure without opening the org chart. “Who reports to Priya?” “Who is coming up on five years with us?” Quick to ask, and answered from the record rather than from memory.

Trust, built in

An answer about your people is only worth something if you can trust where it came from. So we built Ask Worknice around that from the start.

It sees what you see, and nothing more. Every lookup runs with the access of the person asking, through the same permission checks as the rest of Worknice. Ask Worknice can never show you something you couldn’t have found yourself.

It shows its working. Under every answer sits a “tools used” line. Open it and you see each lookup Ask Worknice made and how many results it found. No black box.

It’s honest about its limits. When a question is outside what Ask Worknice can read yet, it tells you, rather than guessing. A wrong answer costs more trust than an honest “I can’t answer that yet”, so we designed for honesty first.

It’s clear about your data. Ask Worknice is processed using Anthropic models, and your data is not used to train them. To answer a question, it sends the model work details such as names, positions, employment dates, and compliance and paperwork status. It never sends remuneration, bank, tax or superannuation details, emergency contacts, contact details, dates of birth or addresses.

This is just the start

Ask Worknice starts where people teams feel the weight most: people, paperwork and compliance, for account owners, reading your records and answering your questions.

From here, it grows. We’re already building access for employees, so your people can ask about their own record without waiting on HR. Leave and calendars come next for account owners. And further out, Ask Worknice won’t stop at answering. It will take the next step for you, with your approval before anything changes.

For years, you had to learn your HR system. Now your HR system is learning to understand you. Ask Worknice is the first step towards Worknice becoming the place where your people data doesn’t just sit, it works.

Ask Worknice is available today in beta for a first group of Worknice customers, with more joining the beta. If you’re a Worknice customer and want to be one of them, talk to your Worknice contact.

Great work starts here.
