Human Resources (HR) managers use surveys to gather information from exisiting employees or job candidates in order to better understand their needs, preferences, and attitudes towards various aspects of the workplace. It could be as simple as asking for shirt sizes for the all important swag, or dive into complex topics such as diversity monitoring.

By introducing multiple choice question types in Worknice surveys, we open up a range of benefits.

Advantages of a multiple choice field

A multiple choice field in a survey is unique in that it allows survey respondents to choose one or more answer options from a list of predefined choices. This type of question is often used in surveys because it is easy to design and analyze, and it allows for efficient data collection.

One of the main advantages of a multiple choice field is that it provides a structured way for survey respondents to express their opinions or preferences. This can help to reduce ambiguity and ensure that respondents are answering the question in the way that the survey designer intended. In addition, the use of predefined answer options can help to standardise responses and make it easier to compare results across different groups or time periods.

Another advantage of multiple choice fields is that they can be designed to accommodate a wide range of answer options, from a simple yes/no question to a more complex question with many different options. This can be particularly useful when designing surveys for large or diverse populations, as it allows for flexibility in the types of responses that can be collected.

How does it work?

Create new survey questions in the question bank

Start by creating questions in the Worknice question bank.

The question bank is a central repository of questions that can be pulled into individual surveys. It is intended to make the surveying process more efficient and effective by providing a starting point for managers to build surveys from, and to ensure that evaluations are consistent across the organisation.

Cool feature – check the ‘include an “other” option’ to automatically insert a free text ‘other’ option for respondent if none of the options suit.

Create a new survey template

You’ve added an individual question to our question bank, now time to create a survey template.

A template is a reusable survey that can be added to workflows (such as an onboarding workflow) or assigned adhoc to employees with only a couple steps.
